Earlier this year, a project that AndersonBaron has been involved with was featured in an article in the Arizona Republic. Working with developer DMB, Inc, they have officially laid out their plans for a new Development in Mesa at the former General Motors Proving Grounds. We are excited to announce that DMB has officially unveiled the new name for the Master Plan: Eastmark. Check out the Eastmark Website!
DMB’s goal in naming the community “Eastmark” was to give it geographical significance, versus a contrived or flowery marketing name with no real ties back to the area. This Master Plan will not only include multiple residential sub-divisions, but will also prosper commercially with the adjacent Gateway area. The entire area is expected to evolve in size and importance over the next few decades into a dense urban center, with close ties to the economic business hub of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and potential other high-rise business districts.
“Eastmark aspires to be the heart and hub for homes and families, the connector for great neighborhoods, education and active centers of commerce, and a vibrant economic engine impacting the entire region,” DMB board Chairman Drew Brown said in a news release.
DMB’s Dea McDonald has said that builders and developers are ready to break ground on the project, and expects to close escrow in June. The City of Mesa has approved zoning for up to 15,000 Dwelling Units, and DMB is ready to move forward.
AndersonBaron has been involved in the Eastmark design process from overall community theming to more specific aspects that are not yet finalized. It has been a pleasure working with DMB and the design team thus far, and we are very excited at the rate this project is moving forward.
