The unique hardscape design of the Gammage Parkway project elevates the space into a true destination, and earned it a feature in the March issue of LASN Magazine. The construction of the Gammage Parkway Power Parasol on Arizona State University’s Tempe campus provided the opportunity for AndersonBaron to establish a new urban environment beneath the shaded solar structures. AndersonBaron was charged with restoring the 40-foot wide median to its former grandeur (it was an original gateway into campus) with colorful paving patterns, a beautiful botanical walk, and a revitalized space to create a place of memories for current and future Sun Devils. The colorful pavers of Gammage Parkway alternate in a running bond pattern to represent the notes of ASU’s alma mater, with the corresponding words set in stainless steel lettering within the paving.
