In addition to the work highlighted in AndersonBaron’s Community Design Studio with Eastmark, we were commissioned to design the neighborhood parks for the first two phases of the community (DU7 North and South), which includes 49 parks covering over 17 acres. Centered on the concept of community socialization, each park was uniquely designed to be an extension of the front yard and a jewel within the neighborhood. Intimate residential neighborhoods are anchored by these small neighborhood parks and connected through the richly designed network of streets. In fitting with the overall theme of Eastmark, all of the neighborhood parks are inspired by explorers, inventors, and visionaries. With large expanses of open turf fields encouraging free play for children and social gathering areas for adults, a neighborhood park is conveniently never more than a few minutes away.
